Description

Please join us for a friends and family preview of LOOP on June 6 from 4–6PM, ahead of the public opening reception from 6–9PM.To mark its soft opening, LOOP presents two interactive installations exploring technology, perception, sound, and human presence. In the main gallery, Vulnerable Value is a collaborative, research-based installation by Georgia Tech’s Future Feelings Lab and Wolfgang Gallery. In the immersive space, WORMHOLE explores planetary motion, spatial sound, and human interaction through responsive audio and light environments.

Featured Works & Interventions

• Vulnerable Value:  A monumental 52’ x 23’ × 12’ interactive Emotion AI installation exploring how human feelings are interpreted, exchanged, and translated by technology.

• WORMHOLE:  An immersive environment of spatial sound, light, and planetary motion that responds to human presence.

• glo:  A site-responsive contemporary movement performance activating the space through the body.

• Botanical Installations by Rousseau Plant Care.

• Lighting Design:  Atmospheric lighting by Studio Studio.

• Currents by Pablo Gnecco: an ephemeral interactive video installation about releasing of intentions

Vulnerable Value

Vulnerable Value invites visitors into an encounter shaped by Emotion AI, where expressions enter an unfamiliar kind of exchange. Moving between recognition and ambiguity, the installation suggests a more intimate, bodily transaction—one that invites reflection on what is given, what is taken, and how personal experience is translated within computational systems.

About the Artists

Georgia Tech artists in the Future Feelings Lab explore alternative ways of feeling with technology and interactive systems—whether we are critically reimagining Emotion AI, designing a queer archive of feelings, breathing with plants and their colonial histories, or prototyping novel embodied experiences with heat. We design and build new technology, critically study the social impacts of technology, and reimagine more just futures with technology, in ways that embrace and leverage human feelings and embodiment as our soft and squishy superpowers for fostering situated, diverse, multicultural, multispecies flourishing.

Wolfgang Gallery is a contemporary art space in Atlanta, GA, dedicated to showcasing emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery’s mission is to foster discovery and support of contemporary art through a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The gallery also aims to build a community that connects exceptional artists and collectors, extending beyond the traditional gallery setting.

WORMHOLE

WORMHOLE is an art installation exploring the relationship between planetary motion, spatial sound, and human presence. The work features spherical loudspeakers, interactive audio/visuals, and an LED wormhole.

Artists: Ishaan Jagyasi, Kyle Smith, Devon Green, and Ryan Baker.
