Jitwam is a Sydney-based artist whose work, including two acclaimed LPs - ‘??? ?? ?? ??’ and ‘Honeycomb - have been critically-acclaimed. He has featured on Moodymann’s DJ Kicks compilation, played at festivals across the world and become a darling of the underground in the past few years. Having lived in five countries across four continents, Jitwam is influenced by the culture around him, incorporating sounds from around the world while experimenting with melodies and songwriting. Born in Guwahati, Assam in India, Jitwam grew up in Sydney, Australia. He was introduced to electronic music whilst living in London, where his songwriting turned, allowing him to use the rock influences he grew up with and melding them into tightly melodic, luxuriously layered production. Threads of universality and one consciousness thread themselves neatly throughout his work. He is also the co-founder of the seminal label The Jazz Diaries and helped establish arts collective and label, Chalo.
