Description
NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, will perform the Legacy Survey of Space and Time using the LSST Camera and the Simonyi Survey Telescope. Rubin Observatory is a joint Program of NSF NOIRLab and DOE’s SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
Rubin collected its first light this past week, and soon we will be able to view it with the rest of the world! This ONE TIME EVENT let's us view these first images for the first time under a full planetarium dome. The Rubin Observatory will capture images of the entire night sky in Chile every 3 days, for 10 years. Compiled together, this will create a time lapse video of our neighbors and the cosmos around us.
NOTE: PLEASE ONLY RESERVE TICKETS IF YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN COME. SEATS ARE LIMITED AND THIS EXPERIENCE CAN NOT BE REPLICATED.
