Come
to New Ulm’s Biggest Festival of the Summer! Bavarian Blast, now in its
14th year, takes place July 18-21, 2019. A German & American Music
Festival, it features all sorts of music on multiple stages, including
German-style bands, old-time, rock and country music. Nationally-known
musicians as well as local favorites take the stages all weekend long!
Camping on-site. Kid’s activities (free admission for 16 and under
Fri-Sun)! Free on-site parking. A few event highlights include the
sauerkraut-eating contest, stein-holding competition, barrel rolling,
dog races, a 5K/10K, Sunday morning Polka Service, Bavarian Blast
Parade, souvenir and vendor sales, and more!
Plenty
of food and drink options appeal to all tastes. What’s a German
festival without German food?! Bratwurst, pork schnitzel, German potato
salad, spätzle (with or without gravy), sauerkraut, apple strudel – is
your mouth watering yet?! Bavarian Blast is a German-American Music
Festival and you’ll be able to find both German and American food
options to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Schell’s Beer will flow
like the Minnesota River all weekend! Full bar available with local
wines from Morgan Creek Vineyards and Doppeleichen Vineyards. And for
the kids, locally brewed 1919 Root Beer on tap!
