EGGtoberfest 2026 Cook team Participation Terms, Waiver, and Release
These Cook team Participation Terms, Waiver, and Release apply to each cook team captain, cook team member, assistant, volunteer, and other person participating with a cook team at EGGtoberfest 2026 (the “Event”), presented by Big Green Egg, Inc. (“BGE”) at Coolray Field (the “Venue”).
By registering for, accepting credentials for, entering, preparing and serving foods at, or otherwise participating in the Event as part of a cook team, you agree to these terms.
Participation and Compliance
You agree to comply with all BGE instructions, Event rules, Venue rules, food safety requirements, health department requirements, and applicable laws. BGE and the Venue may refuse admission, revoke credentials, remove any participant, or suspend any cook team activity if BGE or the Venue determines that a participant’s conduct, food handling, equipment, booth setup, or activity is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, or inconsistent with Event operations.
Each cook team captain represents that the captain has authority to accept these terms on behalf of the cook team and will provide these terms to all cook team participants before the Event.
You understand that participation in the Event involves inherent and other risks, including risks associated with cooking activities, hot grills and surfaces, fire, smoke, charcoal, starters, knives and utensils, electrical equipment, loading and unloading, lifting, tents, tables, weather, crowds, walking surfaces, parking areas, food preparation, food handling, allergens, cross-contamination, foodborne illness, alcohol service, acts or omissions of other attendees or vendors, and Venue conditions.
You voluntarily assume all risks arising out of or related to your entry to, attendance at, participation in, preparation for, departure from, and activities connected with the Event.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release The Big Green Egg, Inc., the Venue, the Venue owner and operator, Event sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, contractors, service providers, and each of their respective affiliates, owners, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, volunteers, agents, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your participation in the Event, including claims based on ordinary negligence.
This release does not apply to claims that cannot be released under applicable law, including claims based on gross negligence, willful or wanton misconduct, or intentional misconduct.
Cook Team Responsibility and Indemnity
You are responsible for your own conduct, equipment, food, ingredients, preparation methods, booth area, and service of samples. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any third-party claim, demand, damage, loss, liability, cost, or expense arising out of or related to:
Your food, beverages, ingredients, samples, recipes, equipment, booth setup, or cooking activities;
Any allergen, contamination, foodborne illness, burn, cut, spill, fire, smoke exposure, or other injury caused by or associated with your cook team;
Your violation of Event rules, Venue rules, food safety requirements, health department requirements, or applicable law;
Your negligence, willful misconduct, or unauthorized conduct; or
Any claim that materials, names, logos, recipes, images, or content you provide infringe or violate another person’s rights.
Food Safety and Allergens
You agree to follow safe food handling practices, maintain appropriate food temperatures, prevent cross-contamination, keep your cooking and service area sanitary, and comply with all BGE, Venue, and health department I
Allergen Notice. Cook team agrees to take reasonable steps to identify and provide notice of common allergens contained in food or beverage items that Cook team prepares or serves at the Event, including milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, sesame, and any other allergen known to Cook team. Cook team will provide such notice in a manner as may reasonably necessary to make Event attendees aware of allergens in the food samples offered by the Cook team, which may include ingredient cards, menu signage, verbal disclosure upon request, or other reasonable Event procedures. Cook team is responsible for the accuracy of allergen information based on the ingredients and preparation methods used by Cook team, but BGE does not independently verify such information.
Media, Publicity, and Content Rights
You grant BGE, the Venue, and their designees the right to photograph, film, record, livestream, display, publish, and otherwise use your name, image, voice, likeness, team name, booth display, cooking activities, submitted recipes, and Event-related content in any media, including websites, social media, advertising, promotional materials, live displays, and Event recap materials, without compensation.
This grant is worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and sublicensable solely for Event-related, BGE-related, and Venue-related promotional, archival, and marketing purposes.
If any cook team participant is under 18, the participant must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian or by an adult authorized by the parent or legal guardian. By allowing a minor to participate, the parent or legal guardian accepts these terms on the minor’s behalf and agrees that the minor will comply with all Event rules and safety instructions.
Any credential, pass, wristband, or ticket issued to a cook team participant is a revocable license. BGE or the Venue may revoke the credential and remove the participant from the Event for violation of these terms, Event rules, Venue rules, safety instructions, or applicable law.
You are responsible for your own equipment, supplies, personal property, and ingredients. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or misplaced property, except to the extent liability cannot be disclaimed under applicable law.
